Thank you! Even though I’m an oldie to the J pouch, I’m still hoping to get ideas on diet, so I’m glad to be a part of this forum. I have to admit, I’ve knocked on wood quite a bit through the years. A person really never knows what their individual outcome will be - sometimes it just doesn’t work out the way one might be told it will. Experience is definitely the tell all. 13 years for you! That’s awesome! Here’s to every year ahead!!

@DPB posted:I feel like I have actually been pretty lucky. I have had one bout with pouchitis and a full bowel obstruction (about 4 years after my takedown) which required surgery. Healthy diet is an issue for me but I’m hanging in there through all the years. ☺️
You have 6 years behind you! Good for you!DPB
Wow that is pretty good for 30 years!!! Some good tips of preventing blockages are drinking water before, during, and after every meal- exercise helps tremendously, and eating slow like extra chewing helps too.
Today is my 6 year anniversary lol!
@Dancing Girl posted:It is amazing to hear about success for THIRTY YEARS. To be honest, I didn't even think about how long my J pouch could last.. I knock on wood that it's been about 13 years or so now. I am knocking right now!!!! Long live J pouches. Welcome to this site.. I don't use it that often but from time to time, it's been helpful for me to pose a question or two. I don't find that people are mean, but I have found that sometimes people give advice and then when you think about it and then question them, they don't REALLY have the surgical procedure I have (which is a J pouch) but rather are giving advice from based on having a different procedure and there really are differences in the aftermath. . It's just like other places in life.. some folks just feel superior due to their circumstances. I'll leave it at that. But again, Welcome!!
We just had different experiences on the forum. I post a lot of advice and I am on here just about everyday, so because of that I get a lot of rude comments, I tend to ignore them though. Maybe I should do what you do and not come on here that often, give myself a break from that lol.
I did dancing too in the past, Are you still dancing???
Hi, thanks for the nice reply. I don't dance as much. When i had more stamina, I used to attend Zumba classes after running. They really helped me with dance moves and rhythm and I did not feel like I had two left feet. But i would not mind getting out. Where do you live?
I'm sorry that people are rude. I cannot imagine that anyone would be rude about this.

Yeah, anywhere where there is people, there is bound to be some negativity- especially on social media. People will be people lol.
