Hi Scott,

I have tried external creams, OstoGuard, Cavilon, Metanium, LaVera, etc, etc.

Lately I have been taken, Asacol suppositories along with Diltiazem Hydrochloride 2%w/w and up to 8 Loperamide and up to 8 Celevac (methylcellulose) daily and 1off codeine morning and night but have not bee taken these lastly as I don't want to get reliant on these.

It sounds like your doctor is treating cuffitis (with Asacol) and anal fissures (with diltiazem). Is your stool consistency soft (but not liquid)? The idea is to make it easy to pass without straining - that's what the methylcellulose is for.

Have you ever tried cholestyramine (Questran)? Some people find it very helpful.

Hi Scott,

My stool consistency changes one day soft the next runs, never to hard. am also full of wind and that burns I have difficulty pass wind  can only manage when I set on the loo but as I say it really burns .

I have never tried cholestyramine (Questran) I will get some from my GP and give it a go.

Thanks for the advice.
