I have not been on here in a long time  A good thing I guess.  I hade my TD surgery roughly 9 years ago and had issues with pouchitis etc for about 2 years.  I went back on Remicade (it worked this time) but I tried to ween off it recently to no avail, (skin cancer is a concern) I went from 10-12 weeks between back to 8.  I also vape light grade marijuana nightly to help me sleep and alleviate pain but I am finding I need that more often than I would like.  I use immodium usually 2 pills twice a day too. I have been getting stomach pains, loose stool, some minor leakage and occasional blood in my stool.  When it is there it is significant and I get that metallic taste in my mouth.  This has happened 3-4 times in as many months.  Yesterday I ate nothing that would trigger this.  I will be scheduling a scope soon but has anyone had these type of issues?  I am starting to get a little concerned.  The bowl was pretty blood filled this AM but has been gone since.

The most common cause of blood in the bowl is hemorrhoids, which can be painful or painless. That’s not the only possibility, though, and hemorrhoids don’t cause a metallic taste. I’m not sure if you’re back on Remicade, and I would have advised against stopping it, but active pouchitis can cause ulceration, and ulcers sometimes open up a small blood vessel that can bleed a bit. Getting that scope seems like a good idea, since occasionally the bleeding is a sign of cancer, which can occur in the rectal cuff, and might cause the metallic taste. Adding some melatonin at night might help you sleep with fewer side effects than the marijuana, but I don’t know your pain issues or medication preferences. Good luck!

Crohns runs in my family but they assured me.before surgery that was not it.  The blood is not too dark but I need to get checked.  I think I just don't want to get any bad news after years of things going better.  Remicade tomorrow and I never stopped just went gradually ro 12 weeks between and decided it was a mistake.
