Life is too short and we've been robbed of too much of it, with our diseases, to subject ourselves to pontificating  jerks on here. There is a blocking feature within this support group. We can block specific people that make us feel like this. I am blocking one tonight.

I apologize if I have offended anyone, except for one, of you!

I hope it empowered you to block whoever it was who upset you.  Blocking is an excellent way to take back control of who you want to hear from, etc. - sort of like getting "toxic" people out of your life.  So far, no one has upset me, but I would not hesitate to block them if they did.  Life is too short, as you said.  Take care.  You've been through the wringer and I want you to feel supported on here.

Now wouldn't it be nice if we could do that in 'real' life??

Kind of like the jerk on the Metro (subway) yelling into his cellphone or the screaming kid etc...

Just clic on your cell phone and "boom"...blocked!

Someone, please invent one....Please!

(also useful for critical mother-in-laws, stupid people who tell us that we do not look sick and idiots who want our handicapped parking stickers!)

Sharon

That would be awesome Sharon.  You should invent it and make zillions. Of course I would be one of your partners.

My son blocked someone on my cell phone. Months later I got a text from this crazy person and wrote back saying they got the wrong number.  After several exchanges I realized the block was no longer there. I went in to block site and their fee was $5 monthly or the cost free block lasted 3 months or something like that. Highway robbery taking advantage of crazy folks and stalkers! (wish I'd invested in Verizon) I texted back that their number was now blocked - then blocked them.

Loosing the Pollyanna in my old age. I am discarding people and things.

To both of you above - yep- as you age, it seems easier to discard jerks.  You know who your real friends are - and the rest - well- you just don't care.  Thought I knew this as a younger person - but had to re learn it again after 50.  Menopause - which was awful for me - helped - I just had no patience or energy for a lot of the nonsense....  You guys are great and I thank you for your humor, advice, and compassion on this site!
