Biopsy Results.

Hi all. Have any of you been called in by your g.I. doctor to discuss your biopsy results from a sigmoidoscopy? I am only asking because this is the first time I have been called by the nurse to say the doctor wants to see me! In the past, I have either been given the negative results by phone, or not been given the results at all (no news is good news?). Thanks, Sally

I've been called in but never for good news...that said, sometimes the results are suspicious or non conclusive and they want to discuss redoing them with you...so don't panic...it could be just a precaution...take a hot bath or a long walk and think about something else until you can talk to him on the phone...or call the secretary back and ask for an immediate appt...
Hang in there, I know how hard this sort of phone call is...

My docs (not my colorectal surgeon, however) always seem to call me on Friday afternoon when I'm not home. They leave a message to call them on Monday. Meanwhile, I have the weekend to imagine the worst! I always think, "What is wrong with "people"?

Thanks Sharon, that is what I thought. I will call Monday (although my appt. with him is the following Monday, the 30th). This Monday I have an upper G.I....been a long time since I had one of those. I hope you are doing well...you have been on my mind. Sally
