Hi all - I am 23 yrs post surgery with not complications. I just had a bout of uveitis, this is a new thing for me with the most recent episode being the second one in 2 years. Following that my general dr. started running a lot of tests to make sure everything is ok. During the course of these tests they found blood in my stool, not visible to the naked eye and lately I've been having a bit of back pain between shoulders and on the right side between ribs and hip. I've had clean blood work on all organs, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, etc. as well as a clean ultrasound of ab and pelvic. I have a scope scheduled for this month but was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues?

Thanks so much!

I am so sorry for the pain KReid,
If I didn't know better I would have said galbladder but you said that that was checked out and cleared and so were the other organs. How is your motility? Have you timed your transit with different food groups? Could it be your small intestines? Does it come after meals or before or on an empty stomach? Is there a time of day when it is worse/better?
Any specific triggers? Sleeping? Physical activity? Meds?
Just some ideas?
Sharon
Thanks for the ideas! I've been worried that it might be my liver or gallbladder even though I have had those checked out thru blood and ultrasound. I also don't have any other symptoms. No issues with going to the bathroom, appetite fine, no vomiting or upset stomachs, etc. And the pain does seem to come and go. I mostly notice it when I'm sitting but I don't know if that's because I'm more focused on it or not. Eating doesn't seem to make a difference either way. I'm not sure if the blood in the stool is related or something completely different. My gastro indicated that J-pouch people can sometimes get a false positive with the blood in stool test because of how the chemicals react to our stools. And the pain isn't debilitating. More annoying then anything else. I would be really happy if it were just all in my head! Smiler
I doubt that it is in your head but finding out where it really is, is the problem. Sometimes the galbaldder doesn't 'show' that it is blocked or is just very sludgy...there are some natural things that you can take to try and clear out the gallbladder and/or liver if it is not too serious (fumeterre for the galbladder and artichoke extract for the liver)...My Old GP was a natureopath and used those on my for years to keep things squeeky clean and pain free.
