Here is a good article from my favorite source of health and nutrition, Dr. Andrew Weil. I notice my JPouch gets worse with just slight inflammation during my cycle. So, in a nutshell, avoid Carrageenan which is
"capable of causing inflammation. This is bad news. We know that chronic inflammation is a root cause of many serious diseases including heart disease, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, and cancer."
That's enough for me! Thought I'd mention it so that you keep an eye out for it in your list of ingredients. It is commonly used in "ice cream, yogurt, cottage cheese, soy milk and other processed foods". And in a side note, to help with inflammation, my surgeon recommended flax oil so I have started taking that. Something you might consider trying!
