Hi All, long time no posts. I've maintained on various antibiotic cycling for going on 15 years now (but mainly Cipro), and alas, looks like I will need to try some new options.

I am going to cycle through a couple different new trials, and a part of that is needing to track daily BM's frequency and symptoms very closely. I've always just used spreadsheets, but I wonder is anyone using an app that they can recommend for tracking things these days? There must be something out there by now.

Thanks!

I know that daily frequency is commonly asked about by GIs, but I often wonder if we could do better. The decision to go to the bathroom is influenced by a bunch of things - actual urgency and discomfort, but also anticipated toilet availability, actual toilet availability, attitudes about a full pouch, gassiness (and diet), etc. I’d suggest keeping track of urgency and leakage events in addition to frequency.

Thanks for the replies! Scott, I totally agree with your sentiments. I am a development engineer by trade and have been keeping very detailed records for my GI since it is second nature to me, but it is tedious so I figured there must be some better apps out there now that can track many things other than just frequency.

I guess I will just try a few and see which is easiest to use and offers the features closest to what I am looking for. Thanks!

The PooCount app is very good.  It can use the Bristol scale which is not overly helpful for people with a pouch, however I have added custom fields to it in the settings.  As Scott said, Urgency, Pushing, Quantity etc can be tracked.  The only downside is it can only measure three levels e.g. low/med/high but on the flip side, that makes it very quick to use.
