Ive had my pouch scoped in teh past when I had similar symptoms and the doctor said it was pretty mild or not very bad at all. It only burns a little some parts of the day, and its very dull and mild, not really an issue, just induces some worries. Anyone know if it's bad to just live with mild pouchitis because it doesn't cause too much frequency or inconvenience? Will it get worse? Or will it just remain in a mild state of pouchitis forever with no other ill effects? Could it cause increased cancer risks in parts of the body, due to constant inflammation? or is this not known?
Havent had luck with flagyl, within the first/second day I get pretty painful tongue sores and sores on the genitals!

i think you should try another antibiotic there are so many for pouchitis..i rotate 4 of them myself..tindermax,xifaxin,augmentin,levaquien..no side effects like cipro or flagel..

no one knows what will happen with our pouches unfortunately but i do not think living with it will make it worse.. nor is it a precurser for cancer..however,you can try another antibiotic and review what you eat.. ..see if there are any patterns there between type of food and when you get discomfort..

For me, pouchitis with noticable symptoms always gets worse if left untreated (which is why I should stop denial or attributing my symptoms to some other factor like if I wish them away, they will go away, and rather get started on treatment right away so I am treating a mild case instead of a more severe case, but denial is a powerful coping mechanism for me). That said, even when on treatment, my scopes show mild inflamation, although no symptoms. I suppose we are all different, but if you go the "let it fester" route, please be attentive if/when things get worse, because treating it when it is mild is much easier than getting a more severe case back into remission.
