I have an upcoming appointment with my OBGYN I will be bringing up the idea of having a fimbrioplasty in which they will remove the scar tissue blocking my tubes. My husband and I have been trying for baby for over 2 years now and it's not happening, I have no other issues besides having a total collectomy and ileoanal anastomosis with temporary ileostomy, and then having that same surgery again when my jpouch prolapsed 9 years after the first surgeries. When discussing with my new surgeon about undergoing the same procedure again he stated that it would probably block my tubes and make me need IVF. Now IVF isn't possible for me at the moment I just cannot afford it, and adoption is an option, but very last option as the very simple fact is I want to carry my own baby, and I want to have a baby with my husband so so badly. I don't need opinions on my opinion of adoption, I just need to hear if anyone has successfully conceived after undergoing a fimbrioplasty? Thanks for your time!

Hey,

I didn't have the fimbrioplasty as the specialist I have been working with said there was just so much scar tissue that chances in my case were too strong that more scar tissue would form and we would be back at square one. I am just finishing up 2nd round of IVF and just waiting to see if this time we will truly have success as the first round ended with a blighted ovum, so sack developed but nothing else. After the first round we fixed some other issues so hoping that this time we will be successful. Hoping things go well for you! If you specialist thinks the fimbrioplasty is worth a try then go for it. Best of Luck!
