To help with hydration I start with a large bottle of electrolyte water every day, but I just sip on it throughout the day. I don’t omit salt from my diet.  Also I add mineral drops to plain water (found at natural food stores) which helps keep body alkaline.  Recently started taking  B12 supplements for gut health.  If nothing else, I think the large bottle of electrolyte sip throughout the day is quite important.

I took B12 for increased energy but my levels got high (they were checking for my inflammatory and vitamin levels in general and my doc suggested I stop.

As for potassium and magnesium and such, I don’t Really mess with that unless the doc suggests. I know that can be tricky and can really impact your health if you get it wrong. But if it works for you and you’re finding it’s helping, that’s great!

Where do you get electrolyte water at??? I have heard of pedialyte.

I have read in more than one article that people with fast transit, salt is actually our friend. Aids retaining fluid. I would definitely talk to the doctor if you already have high blood pressure issues however. I think it’s better just always to keep it moderate, but I don’t eliminate it. That’s my personal choice. Probably the best solution is buying the electrolyte water. I think Pedialyte tastes horrible They may even add some citric acid of some sort which could be irritating. I just get regular electrolyte Clearwater from the grocery stores and it will say on them that they contain electrolytes. Normally health food stores like Whole Foods or New Seasons always have them but most common grocery stores now carry the same.  There are also recipes online for making electrolyte water.

Wouldn’t increasing salt intake if you aren’t sure if you need to increase interfere with blood pressure?

Yes and heart rate. But since I have over 10bms a day, I am sure it is fine for myself. I have been checked in the past and my salt intake is normal. And I drink water to balance everything out as well. I am not sure how many bms you have a day but when you have over 10 or close to it, you need extra salt.

Totally agree, I never tried pedialyte myself but its really popular on here. I love juice for hydration too. And they have low sugar and no sugar gatorade if you are ever looking for something new. And okay great! Thanks! I do not believe I ever saw Electrolyte Clearwater before. I mainly shop at Target so maybe they have it? Maybe its in the medicine or gatorade section?

It’s at most stores like Safeway etc. I didn’t mean for clear water sound like a brand name. It’s just in the water section of the grocery store and I’ll be like regular water bottle in water bottle isle (possibly down from soft drinks)  but will say on it that it “contains electrolytes”. That way you can stay away from the sometimes Other irritating ingredients that they add to the other types of drinks   Take care

Oh I see, I thought you meant a brand name, my bad XD that sounds great! I definitely need to look in that since I have close to 15bms a day hahaa.  You probably have a lot of bms a day too.
