I would really appreciate any information that members may offer. After 9 years of a J pouch I am having a different problem. I have always suffered from over 12 BMs a day. It was worse in past. Been on Entivo monthly infusions.                     My concern now is my inability to pass most anything because of great   anal pain. Over a very long time I suffered from butt burn and used Ilex,Vasoline ,Lidocaine and Betammethasone.                                                                        This is new. To go from 12 plus a day to a few small movements since I eat very little now. Seen 3 doctors ( 2 family and 1 GI ) who know nothing about a jpouch. I am waiting to see a colorectal surgeon. I had a twisted bowel 4 years ago which required surgery. I was very serious.                                                                        I now read that 80% of Crohns patients get an anal abscess. Will be waiting several days for appointment. Take many warm baths. Can someone let me know more about their experiences.  Thank You

Bill, it sounds like you've really had a tough time with 12 BMs a day for the past nine years. That's so many! I don't think 80% of Crohns patients get an anal abscess. I've got an s-pouch (same as j, just different shape) and Crohns and things have gone well until recently. I'm doing okay I just have to get a stricture sorted out but this is not surprising since I've had my pouch for 28 years. Let us know what the surgeon finds. Perhaps it is a stricture that can be expanded that's causing your pain. A non-surgery issue.
