I have had a lot of bowel obstructions over the last year.  I heard that my brother's friend finally found an answer to his crohns via cannabis oil.  I was willing to try anything.  I went to a licensed clinic and spoke to a doctor who recommended I get a prescription for CBD without THC.  When I first started using it I found that the dosage they recommended was much too high for me.  I didn’t feel well on it.  So I took only a drop on my tongue on occasion.  It wasn't really helping for what I needed it for.  I wanted to improve consistency of stool and decrease frequency of movements and hopefully lesson occurrences for obstructions.  When I called a counsellor and spoke to her regarding the symptoms she said to try it under my tongue.  Since I started that I have felt no pain and I am able to eat as I want.  I am having less movements and the consistency is better.  I also have had no obstructions.  I has been almost a week and I notice quite a difference already.  The counsellor told me that by putting it under my tongue it goes directly into the bloodstream and helps with inflammation.  MY osteopathic doctor was trying to help with inflammation as well.  She took me off wheat and added so many other changes into my diet.  I am slowly removing some of the suggestions she made as I think the oil is really helping.  I have heard many beneficial qualities to cannabis oil and I couldn’t wait to share with all of you who may have trouble in some way shape or form after the jpouch surgery or other issues that come with this operation.

I am curious, has anyone opted to try medicinal cannabis. I wrote above because I truly think this is a viable option for relief in so many ways.  I have found that I can pretty much eat anything, I don't need enzymes anymore nor do I feel any type of pain from eating such as the feeling of obstructing.  I highly recommend seeking a clinic if anyone has issues with their pouch as this oil helps so much with inflammation (in the pouch).

Yes, I use medical cannabis everyday. The end result is that I am no longer antibiotic dependent. I no longer take sulphasalazine for my arthritis. I no longer have issues with pouchitis. Had medical cannabis been an option when I had colitis, I'm confident I would still have a functional colon.

As an FYI, I use primarily a 1:1 ratio of THC:CBD. The THC seems to help with my gut motility.

I really don't know how long the oil lasts. The only thing I found was on the cwhemp site. They claim their oil will last up to a year under proper storage. I currently take an alcohol based tincture. I'm guessing that it has a shorter life span.

With respect to dosing, the recommendation I was given was to go low and slow - which is to say to start at a very low dose and work your way up until you (hopefully) achieve desirable results. We all must self titrate to find the right ratio of CBD/THC and dosage. Go with what works for you.
