So I am all set for a March/April pouch removal but I have a few questions.

I am having a stoma creation and everything out, rectum, the lot.

1) How long is the surgery (Apprantly my pouch is fusing to my bladder)

2) Will I have an epidural? (I ask because after pouch surgery I had a reaction to my morphine button so they took it off me only for my epidural to fall out which left me in agony for 12 hours before they realised)

3) How long can I expect to stay in hospital?

4) How long before I will be fully operational?

All of these questions have the same answer..."it depends".
It depends on your surgeons technique and the amount of surgical dissection required.
It depends on the anaesthetist and your surgical team whether you have an epidural, or,not. You can always ask for one at your pre-op consult.
Healing time depends on how your body reacts to the surgery and whether (or not) you have any post-op complications (I certainly hope you do not).
Everyone's reactions to major surgery are quite individual. Be prepared by being in the best physical and mental state that you can be in before your actual surgery.
