You had me going there at first, since ALS is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig Disease). Not usually associated with the j-pouch, but one of our moderators, Dave H, actually died from it.
But, I see from your topic that you actually are talking about afferent limb syndrome, which is a structural defect in the small bowel entering the pouch that causes obstructions.
