Hi all,

my first couple days after were great. Maybe 4-5 times with once at night. I started eating more, so I expected it to go up, but the last few days have been rough. Strong all morning, but around 3pm starts a wiggly feeling in My rectum. It's a leak wanting to happen, and I have to flex like a champion to be sure it stays put. (By the way, I was told pre-op that I have exceptionally strong muscles there - which surprised me having had hemorrhoid surgery.

Well, this continues through the evening, often leaving trace "skid-marks" in spite of my best efforts. I obviously have a hard time sleeping, but if I take a sleep aid, I run the risk of a genuine leak (I wear pads).

Did anyone else have similar issues and they got better with time?

Can anyone tell me if this is to be expected to some degree or another at this point?  i know a couple others are scheduled for their takedown real soon, so maybe this will help them as well. Thank you!

I remember all too clearly having to stop everything and try to clamp like a steel trap. I don't remember how long that lasted but I know I really noticed a big difference at 4 months and then another qualitative leap at 6 months. At the beginning I would often wonder if I had done the right thing. I'm (generally) glad that I had the surgery. I'm at nine months now. 5-6 per day, one in the night. No clamping. No leaking. No real urgency. At times burning but nothing like it was in the first few months. Things have 'toughened up' down there considerably. Hang in there.
