Not sure I understand your question.  But if you are speaking of having a prep for a disconnected J pouch before a scope that would seem to be ridiculous.

The basic problem is the medical staff rarely understands the procedures we have had done and so if you are scheduled for a scope the computer automatically comes up with the typical scope prep. I get scoped every two years even though I have no pouch and an end ileo but they left the anus an a tiny amount of intestine and the nurses come unglued when I tell them I didn't follow the prep instructions.  Rather then try to explain I tell them to speak the my GI and she calms them down.

Oh sorry, I wasn't clear, which is typical for me .  I'm having my jpouch removed.  Currently it's disconnected, and I have an end ileostomy.  Trying to get ready for surgery at the end of the month, and am dreading the thought of a prep such as golytely (or whatever it is these days).  I'm going for pre-ops on Tuesday, so will ask then, but wanted to know whether anyone out there had to do any type of prep prior to removal of the pouch - even though there's no output getting to the pouch due to the end ileo.  Hopefully, the intestines distal to the end ileo won't be touched.
