Hi,
I'm from Sharon and would love to go to a support group in the south of Boston area.
Is there anything around that anyone knows about? Would love to hear back from anyone south of Boston or in the Boston area.

I know it's not south Boston but Mass General has meetings. I would contact the stoma nurses there and she could direct you. She told me about them a couple of months ago, I haven't gone though because I moved out west. Best of luck.
Thanks so much, Mike, I'll do that. Just out of curiosity, are you doing well with your jpouch?

I am interested in starting a support group for people with Jpouchs. Just help people transition post-surgery and ask questions. Mema 1 - are you still interested?
Absolutely....would love it!!
The group at MGH meets the second Wednesday of the month. I don't recall the moderators name so that I could forward that info to you. Although I haven't gone for quite some time, I am still on the email list. When I get the next notice I will posted it on this forum, unless I noticed that somebody has already figured it out. The group has several J pouchers, but is not exclusively for Js
Oh really? My understanding was that it was more of an ostomy support group? Atleast when I called mgh and spoke to the nurse there who runs it, that's what she made it seem. But you're saying you've been and there have been people post-jpouch surgery there?

Thanks! Before I contact him, may I ask what his role is in all of this?
He moderates the meetings.

Thanks for keeping me posted. The email address didn't seem to work. It bounced back when I tried it.
I trust it's OK to post his email on this forum. Here is what was sent to me:
Hi friends,
This is a friendly reminder that the CCFA support group is meeting on Wednesday, June 8th at 6:30pm. We will be meeting in our usual room of 4-820 in MGH’s Yawkey Building (55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA).
Wednesday’s meeting will be a traditional ‘Roundtable’ support session (no speaker is scheduled). For new attendees, I will post signs and leave directions with the Yawkey help desk personnel. Click here for a map of MGH.
Parking is available in the main hospital garages, or in the garage beneath the Yawkey building.
Take care and hope to see you this Wednesday.
Best,
Al

Thanks so much for sharing. I think is more geared towards people with UC rather than specifically Jpouches, but I'll check it out. Thanks!
I know that several of the participants, if not most, have J pouches or are contemplating getting them. Then again I haven't gone to a meeting for several years and things change
