Reply to "Why does an end ileostomy work better than loop???"

"An end ileostomy is made when part of your large bowel (colon) is removed (or simply needs to rest) and the end of your small bowel is brought to the surface of the abdomen to form a stoma. ... In a loop ileostomy, a loop of the small bowel is lifted above skin level and held in place with a stoma rod."

Loops seem to be more messy and have more what I call acid. Burns alot more.

I can have a leak with my end ileo and it will not burn my skin. If I leave it long enough it will burn it but I don't.

Loops are just notoriously more difficult. I've had both and an end ileo is nothing like a loop. I remember the loop and burns. You never forget it.
