Reply to "Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis?"

After many years of joint pain I was diagnosed with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis approximately two years ago. I was first prescribed Prednisone and later was prescribed Humira. Before I had J Pouch surgery earlier this year I stopped the Humira and was started on Prednisone (4 mg) again. It seems to work pretty well for me.

Appreciate the response; yea it takes a long time to be properly diagnosed it seems. I apparently had SA a long time as I was on prednisone for over 5 years fighting for my life with bad Ulcerative Colitis and it had masked the symptoms. When I came off Pred I had crazy pain levels. Be careful with Prednisone - this can cause you many unwanted bad side effects. During the time I was on it I developed Glaucoma and Bone loss. I have tried almost everything; I cannot take biologics anymore as I developed antibodies; I wound up with a Pain Management Doc - taking Hydrocodone and my Rheumatologist has me trying natural remedies like Fish oil, Turmeric and Boswellia extract with minor improvement. Hang in there.
