Pneumonia Delaying My Remicade

I now have pneumonia diagnosed on a chest X ray and it’s already forced me to cancel my infusion on May 8 because my GI wants to see the symptoms cleared up and post 2 weeks before I get another infusion. So now the infusion is bumped to May 20 meaning the pneumonia symptoms must clear up by May 6.

So far no abatement of symptoms in almost 2 weeks. They put me on doxycycline and it has not helped. The pneumonia is likely viral in origin so I am waiting for this to clear up. Meanwhile I am worried that the Pouchitis will flare and there will be nothing I can do about it as there can be no biological drugs given to a patient with pneumonia.

BTW I had one of the 2 pneumonia vaccines in 2013 but they expire in 5 years and I didn’t get the renewal. So now I am stuck and waiting to get better which is like Waiting for Godot.
