If the pain has been the same since the pouch was created 10 years ago, and persists even though the pouch isn’t being used (you wrote that you have a loop ileostomy), then it’s reasonable to believe that the pain may be related to the construction of the pouch (this could include adhesions that developed when the pouch was made). What does your surgeon (or gastroenterologist) say?
