If you were on prednisone I would suggest checking in with an orthopedist to see if you have osteonecrosis. I was on prednisone for six months in 1988 for UC . I started to have severe pain in 2010 in my hips and shoulders. My colon and rectal surgeon made the diagnosis of ON.
