Wondering how the Konsyl helps you along with the Metamucil ? I have also been using Metamucil  2 x day (Before breakfast and before dinner – 1 tablespoon)  pretty much since I've had my pouch as well... and my pouch is older than yours. Getting my j-pouch was my 3rd surgery, So, I'm guessing I lost more of my small intestine along the way.

I suffer from chronic pouchitis too. Right now, I'm on one Cipro a day. Lomotil  keeps me going when I go out. I've also started taking one or two lomotil before I go to bed so I don't have so many nighttime trips.

It's a rocky trip isn't it? Some days are better than others. Not sure if it's related to what I eat or something else most of the time when things are bad.

The only reason for the Konsyl mix is that I find the straight Metamucil too sweet, and I don’t need the extra calories. My pouchitis is really under excellent control - I haven’t had a bad pouch day in years, I’m happy to report, and I eat a completely unrestricted diet. I’ll consider myself supremely lucky as long as no tendons rupture and my peripheral nerves keep nerving along.
