Reply to "Mayo Clinic"

There really isn’t a need to go to Mayo for a pouchoscopy if you are not experiencing anything that would suggest a pouch problem.  A good GI in your area should be able to do the exam and then refer you to Mayo only if he/she finds something that cannot be handled locally.  My condition requires annual scoping and I went to Mayo only 2 times in 30 years when my GI’s findings needed a second opinion.
