Makes sense. If you are unable to empty and are resorting to using a catheter, this may be a structural issue. I would enquire about some advanced imaging, such as defagraphy, to see if you have a pouch prolapse or collapse when you bear down. This defect would not be evident during a scope. That is something that is a surgical issue. Your GI can order this.

The Portland area should have some qualified surgeons. I know we have some members up that way. You might want to do a search for posts in your area and see if they mention their provider or facility.
