Reply to "Holding in stool when urinating"

As someone with a sub-total colectomy and my jpouch constructed higher up above the sigmoid juncture of the remaining colon & subsequent full rectum intact and my pouch 19 years old now, i have always, always urinated and defecated together into the toilet and never separately.

Infact when there were active j-pouch meetings in down town philadelphia, 25-30 minutes from where i reside all of those attendees of the jpouch variety expressed they too urinate and defecate together because thats how it works usually.

My surgeon then also stated that this was like going to be the outcome. For me, there is a strong urge to urinate and defecate and when it comes on it comes on and i go to the toilet and do both together.
