Dr Shen was also my GI for awhile! Did he offer an alternative to the mesh? So far, I don't feel the other mesh but maybe it's deeper. I'm also on the thinner side, and my friend who had a hernia repair says he can feel his mesh, too.
He did not offer any suggestions to an alternative. But he was a little pissed I had mesh put in. Dr Shen doesn't think anyone with a pouch should lift anything over 20-25 lbs either..lol. that is unrealistic in the normal world. I love him to death but some things he is a bit out of touch with every day living

He said the same regarding not lifting more than 20lbs. Maybe it was 25. Can't remember but he would have freaked if he knew I used to leg press 350!
