Reply to "fruits and vegetables"

I am a 28 year j-pouch veteran.  I have found in the last 10 years that eating gluten free (and for some people dairy free) is a huge relief on my taking high powered antibiotics!  I do not have to take Cipro or anything anymore.  I am not dairy free.  To address fruits.. I find that I can tolerate them however I will know that I will have to void more when I consume them.  I put them in my Ninja blender with protein so that the seeds such as raspberries and blackberries can be broken down!  I love berries.  If a fruit is too acidic such as lemons, limes, oranges they act more like a diuretic for me and I don’t go out anywhere for a few hours after consuming.  I do not take anything like Lamotil to slow my bowels down since going gluten free!  I maybe should at times.  I have also found for me that when I have to go on antibiotics for bronchitis or some respiratory problem; I end up with anal burning and pouch dumping problems.  I cannot take prednisone in high doses so I avoid prescription medication when at all possible.  I have a list of foods that are helpful but that can vary from one individual to another.  I void 10-12 times daily which is normal for me and never have a formed stool.  I have a small j-pouch as one well known Gasteroenteroligst in North Carolina informed me.  That may be the reason!  Hope this help!!  Feel free to contact me whenever!  I have a Naturopathic doctor who has helped me as far as bowel dumping so often by prescribing a couple of supplements by the company “Standard Process”.
