Fat bellies and iliostomy

I have to have my jpouch excised and a permanent end ostemy. When I had the temporary one (25 years ago) before the jpouch take-down, it was awful. constant leaking, skin irritation, bleeding, etc. My surgeon is saying that may happen again because I've got a bit of a belly. Any one out there overweight who wants to share their ileostomy experience?
