Dysbiocide & FC Cidal or other herbal therapies to work on balancing the microbiome

Hi there fellow J-pouchers,  I am wondering if any of you are taking herbal supplements like Dysbiocide and FC Cidal to balance out your microbiome and keep gas production and inflammation down. I have been thinking that "pouchitis" and other inflammation of the intestines are really about the balance of the microbes in our guts. I have been reading about SIBO and the low FODMAP diet and then found an article about taking some herbal supplements, like Dysbiocide and FC Cidal, were as effective as an antibiotic in treating SIBO, an overgrowth of bad microbes in the small intestine. I have been taking Dysbiocide and FC Cidal for a few months, generally once a day, and think it might be helping, in addition to following (loosely) the low FODmap diet. I think this is the other side of the "probiotic" coin: in addition to adding good bacteria, (I still eat yogurt routinely and take PB-8, a probiotic) we can address the "bad" bacteria through diet and herbal supplements, if they are shown to be effective. I started down this path because I cannot afford to take VSL #3 to try to keep things at bay.

What do you think? Are any of you trying these remedies with any success? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4030608/
