I find that if I don't drink enough water, I still need to go but get incomplete emptying. Drinking more water means I empty better and an more comfortable. I also find taking loperomide or too much fibre has the same effect of restricting emptying. It surprised me but reducing actually helped...
Best advice is to keep trying new things, and don't forget to retry stuff you already discounted.. your body changes, as do other subtle things like diet.
