yes ofcourse ! I was given steroids when ever I was in flare initially. my UC became steroid dependent so whenever I would taper and go below 5 mg my UC symptoms would come back. So was on them on and off for 10 years. That caused severe osteoporosis and avascular necrosis in my right hip , left knee , left wrist , left ankle and right knee. Now have bulging disc in neck and my right wrist is heading to the same fate 😐.
i had to do hip and knee replacements and have joint pain due to avn .i regret taking steroids looking back but didn't know any better
I would ask the doctor to prescribe a nebulizer, a nebulizer has been proven to help more than inhalers; although a lot of doctors disagree with that but its definitely true. And great! Make an appointment with your pulmo asap and ask him to prescribe a nebulizer with albuterol for it and Monetlukast 10mg 
And omg!!!! Steroids did a lot on you!!! That must have been a crazy hard time for you! I am sorry! Do you take calcium pills for your osteoprosis??? And do not blame yourself! You did not know, that is perfectly understandable. Sometimes the docs do not tell us everything unfortunately. I got my J-pouch at 22 and a couple days after surgery, I I found out that J-pouchers have a 50% infertility rate. I was like, "how come no one told me this?" Lol. Some doctors do not tell you everything lol.
