Although I never had the 'official diagnosis' of colitis, they preferred to call it IBD back then, I had protracted bouts of constipation that lasted dangerously long (usually 7-10 days) and then once the 'plug' more or less passed I had bloody-watery stools for a few days...I lived this cycle from infancy until my k pouch creation at 18. I have zero memory of ever having had a normal intestinal life.

It got so bad that they actually tested me for Hershsprung's disease but the results were negative.

My k pouch was a major relief from a lifetime on a rollercoaster.

Not sure why it was alway an extreme but that is how it went for me.
