My pouch is 16 months old. I started eating brown rice a month ago because of diabetes and I am fine on it, and I like it a lot. For more flavour try cooking it in chicken or vegetable broth instead of water. I like the chewy texture. I eat quinoa too, which I was afraid to do when my pouch was new. I can't eat white bread anymore (simple carbohydrate = diabetes sugar spike) so I eat sourdough bread or whole wheat bread from our local bakery. Bakery bread somehow taste better than mass produce breads. I also eat sprouted grain breads with almond butter for breakfast and like it a lot. I just discovered that I love pasta made from a combination of brown rice flour and quinoa. It has a delicious texture and I can't tell the difference except I like it much more than regular spaghetti made from white flour.
