Have you tried adding the salt when eating (not into the meal)? I would not like to have my water taste salty all day long. I need an additional dose of salt from 1 to 3 mg salt per day in order to keep my Na blood level normal. If the Na level gets too low I get circulation problems, lose weight and that goes on like a vicious circle with having less appetite, more diarrhoea and overall mineral losses.

Usually I add 1 g of salt to my breakfast. I take a portion of 1/2 g after about half of the meal, pouring it into a mouthful of food I already chewed and trying to envelope it a bit to avoid the salty taste. Swallowing it with a bit of water there is little taste left of the salt. I have to divide it into 2 portions of 1/2 g with some time in between because taking it all at once is likely to make me feel nauseous.

In the past I also used empty gelatin capsules from the pharmacy (about 0.9 cm³ size is one g of salt), now I have one half of such a capsule glued to a toothpick as a level scoop.

I add salt to meals and water, never bothers me, it actually makes me feel better. When I do not, I get headaches.
