Rather than put salt in water - which only gives you sodium- why not drink electrolyte beverages that have both sodium and potassium? You don't want your potassium getting low. After colectomy my potassium got alarmingly low and I was compelled to drink liquid potassium. Don't ignore it. If you are losing electrolytes through watery BMs the potassium needs to be replaced. Low potassium could mean cardiac issues and cardiac arrest.

That is definitely a good idea!!! I mainly get my potassium through potato chips and potassium snacks Lol But yeah I think I will give electrolyte drinks a shot, especially since I have over 10 BMS per day.
