Reply to "Anybody put salt in their water"

Rather than put salt in water - which only gives you sodium- why not drink electrolyte beverages that have both sodium and potassium? You don't want your potassium getting low. After colectomy my potassium got alarmingly low and I was compelled to drink liquid potassium. Don't ignore it. If you are losing electrolytes through watery BMs the potassium needs to be replaced. Low potassium could mean cardiac issues and cardiac arrest.
