Reply to "Anybody here take Potassium pills to help with hydration???"

The body’s will only use the potassium it need from our diet, any excess potassium is normally excreted in the urine; so, no matter how much potassium enriched  food consumed, what the body doesn’t need, it expels; same too for protein.

Taking potassium supplements that haven’t been prescribed by a Doctor, as a result of a blood test could cause issues.

Rather, than taking potassium, it’s probably more important to increase your salt intake; as it’s our large bowel that has been removed and prior to its removal, its job was to absorb fluid and salt from our waste before being excreted.
