Hi....I am about 4 and 1/2 months takedown and I am going to the bathroom about 20+ times in a 24 hour period most of it during the night. I am up at least a dozen times and it is really hard to function. I have been on Flygal and Cipro on and off since takedown. I am on 4 Lomotil a day about 4-8 Idmodium, VLS3, Cholestyramine with a oxycodine every now and then to help me relax and sleep. I follow a pretty good diet for the belly (no raw fruit or vegis) and I have been gluten free for about 3 years. It does not matter what time I stop eating I am up...I am just so tired!!!! I do yoga to help relax me because the lack of sleep is really starting to stress me out nevermind the butt burn and pain. I have been tested for cdiff and it came back negative and they do not think it is pouchitis...I am just at a loss!!! Everyone says to give it more time but I feel like I am at wits end

You've done pretty much everything I would have considered. Sadly, it takes 6-12 months to adapt, but most people see some improvement by the 3 month mark. For real "hard cases" sometimes they try Sandostatin to help slow severe diarrhea.

Another strategy you might consider, since most of your bowel activity is at night, is to switch things up and eat most of your diet in the late afternoon and evening, instead of during the day. You may still have the same frequency, but perhaps most of it whe uou are awake.

I had a rough time the first few years, but not 20+ BMs per day, more like 12-15. My underlying problem was cuffitis.
