anyone here have skin issues from either your Crohns or UC, even after surgeries or whatnot? I hear skin issues are common with IBD. I ask cuz about 2 times a year I get what looks like mosquito bites all over my body that are red and itch like crazy. They are individual spots, not clusters. They last for like 2 weeks and go away on their own. I have saw two dermatologists over the years and they have no idea what it is or whats causing it. No photos on the internet look like what i have either.

Maybe it was just hives, which can occur due to practically anything, from sun exposure to your own sweat, a food or additive, to anxiety. Could also have been a response to a virus. If your docs could not figure it out, we probably can't either. Did it coincide with bowel flares to cause you to think they were IBD related?

I was just wondering if anyone here experienced anything similar. I have read that autoimmune diseases can cause skin conditions. My dermatologist doesnt seems very concerned about it cuz it completely goes away by itself after 2-3 weeks. But it itches like hell. And like I said, it comes out of nowhere 2-3 times a year. It looks like bug bites and when i scratch the redness blotches out from the actual dot. I see my dermatologist again on thursday for my annual mole look over and i will ask him again. Its just with my surgery coming up on the 19th i dont want to try a medicine.

Yes Yes Yes, ... So I get these itchy patches on the back of my neck. When spring weather comes and when fall weather comes. They itch and it's raised bumps. This fall, I have it on the side of my neck, which is new. they seem to go away after the weather becomes stable..

I figure it's Ulcerative Colitis/Chrons that lives in me despite being told that the one time they thought  had Chrons may not have been accurate and depite my total colon is out and I have a J POUCH  for about 11 years after having UC on and off for thirty years.

I also get dizzy at this time of year and am prone to getting sick if people around me have the flu and cough and sneeze all over me. I think I have a weakened immune system from being sick for so many years and also have various conditions and that the UC/Chrons lives in me in some vague way and rears its ugly head in the form of that skin rash.

Yep, thats what I think and I'm not interested in getting more drugs to take or seeing more dr's to try and figure it out. It eventually goes away as the season wears on and I adjust to it.

Maybe that's what is going on with you??? good luck with your next surgery and don;\'t sweat/itch the small stuff. I have bigger fish to fry with other issues related to my disease but it is very interesting to talk to you about it. Feel free to write again.

comes in patches between my fingers and on one side of my head under hair line.(yes generally has little bumps with it) but will always come back, use cortisone cream, so save the tube(generally takes 2-3 treatments to go. dizzyness is also common many be due to way you eat. I will tend to go without food till supper so I can work without running to the bathroom. Still go 20-30 times if I don't watch my intake I control nights with codiene pills. The best thing in my life is a bidet company named AM/DM sells them but you can find a number of different ones on line that mount on a normal toliet. Not funny,WORTH IT!!!!

mine is not patches, it looks like tiny red bumps, like bug bites, and are a single dot, not in patches or clusters. But i get alot of them, never on head and rarely on hands or feet. mainly between neck and mid thigh, but some on arms and lower legs.

I would not think this would be an issue with my upcoming surgery in a week and a half do you?? should i email my surgeons nurse or not worry about it?
