Was a bit runny yesterday, no big deal. Didn't have anywhere to go, so just dealt with it and moved on.

Until I broke out in blisters. I swear, there's a rash or something waiting in my skin; just a little too much runny stool or spice or fruit/veg or WHATEVER and I go from fine to crying from the pain of urinating over blisters!!! Sick of it.

As of today I am going back on a totally bland, nasty, horrible diet. Going to stick to that again for a few days and then VERY slowly try only fruits/veg which are "approved". The first time one causes blisters, I am phoning my surgeon and screaming.

I am pretty much terrified of the surgical process required to reverse the pouch, but I just cannot take this any more. I am going to give the ultra-bland diet one more real shot, and then I quit.

Oh my, Gin! That sounds intolerable! I can handle the pain in my spine and joints, but that "lemon-juice-on-a-paper-cut" pain in the perineal area is positively a "shoot me now" thing. I have a very limited tolerance for headaches too. Thankfully, I seldom get those things. I am not sure I would be willing to live a white diet forever, just to avoid an ileostomy. Maybe it is because I never had one that I am not too adverse to it.

Hope it works for you.

Hugs, Jan

Gin,

I am so sorry.

I am desperately wracking my brain on ideas but the only think that I can come up with is taking anti hystamines to see if they can help you.

Could it be an alergic reaction to something? Could you be reacting to food or soap or laundry detergent?

I had an alergy to that pink institutional toilet paper that they had in all public buildings and schools...every time that I used it I would get a burn on my girly parts...

Could it be the unddies? Are you using sythetic or cotton? That can effect it too.

My body tends to react to all sorts of stimulus...maybe yours does too?

No other ideas, only a lot of sympathy and hugs

Well, I know certain wipes affect me, but I've stopped using those. I think at this point I just have had sooo many break outs that things don't get a chance to fully heal before the next round begins.

And Jan, lemon juice on a paper cut is pretty much EXACTLY how it feels!

I'd go to a perm ileo tomorrow if I weren't concerned about the surgery, time off & away from home and the potential side effects. Still might, just trying not to rush into a decision.
