That is not a clinically signifigant change. You have to look at what the normal range is for your lab. I had liver enzymes (they do two-ALT and AST) that were both three time the upper limits of normal. Even that was considered just a modest elevation. Basically, elevations of liver enzymes mean there is liver inflammation. There are other liver tests, but enzymes are what is typically done in routine screening. 

 

So, if it is elevated enough to be a concern, they first repeat it to make sure it is not error. If it persists, then there is further testing to track it down. This can be important since a variety of liver disease is associated with UC. Mine turned out tp be simple non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. My liver enzymes returned to normal with weight loss and treatmeny of my inflammatory arthritis (also UC related ).
