Had J pouch in 1984. In June had DVT blood clot and went on Coumadin. Since then I have had nothing but leaking feces. E.G. I woke up this morning after 7 hours of sleep to a huge amount of feces on my pad, It is extremely heavy. Now I have the most terrible pain in my abdomen. This happens all the time, even  during the day I just do not feel the feces coming down and when I pull down my pants I  have a big lump of feces in my pants. It is so embarrassing and stops me going places I would like to go as I am afraid I will leak Anyone have this same problem.

Coumadin can cause diarrhea. Are you taking anything to address this, like Lomotil, Imodium, or fiber? Have you talked to your doctor about alternate anticoagulants?

Did anything else change at the same time? Also, although the timing strongly suggests that the Coumadin (or something else that changed) is behind this, you might also simply have pouchitis. If that’s the case a course of Cipro could make a world of difference.

Finally, you might have picked up C. Diff, especially if you were hospitalized. Have you been tested? Make sure this is tested for *before* you start any antibiotic.

Good luck!
