So long story short, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at the age of 13, had a colectomy at 21 and have had a Jpouch ever since. My doctor's back then told me I didn't need treatment or check ups as I didn't have it any more. The past few years my stomach has been bad on and off. Gets upset frequently the past two. Last year I started getting a lot of pain and spasms in my stomachs and ribs. I was diagnosed with acid reflux. But two months ago I got uviatus. And was told only people with colitis or chrones can get this. So I am on treatment t for this and have asked to see a gastrilogist about the colitis. As I found out it's an autoimmune disease and I will never get rid of it. So I have gone years without treatment and this really stresses me out. My joints

get inflammation quite regularly the past few months and my stomach is acting up more then usual.  I am so tired and can't catch a break at the moment. To top it off it seems I have a small hernia. If anyone has advice please share as all of this is stressing me out and really getting me down.

Candice, when a J-pouch is working well it really doesn't need any attention. It's prudent to have periodic pouchoscopies, but it's not really essential. There are actually lots of causes of uveitis, but inflammatory bowel disease certainly is an important one. The acid reflux can be unpleasant, but it usually has nothing to do with IBD. It's understandable that being sick is stressful, but at least don't worry about not having had treatment for years - it sounds like you may well not have needed it. And now that you need it, you're getting it.
