Hi,

I'm new around here. I have PAF/Gardner Syndrome and recently round out I have polyps in my duodenum.

For a while now I Have Been considering getting my tubes tied as I dont want to carry children with my genes, and Also considering I have a risk for desmoid tumors that might increase during or after pregnancy.

I was wondering if anyone took a similar desicion as I did.

By the way, I am 25... Thank You.

I'm 23 with classic FAP and struggling with the idea of having children, too. If it's passing on the gene that worries you the most, there are other (expensive) options. I know doctors can remove your eggs, find the ones that carry the genes, and replace the unaffected eggs. Not sure about other methods.

As for the desmoid tumors, that's definitely something to talk to your doctor about. Are you seeing someone who specializes in genetic colorectal cancers? There's a list of doctors online that I like to refer to: HCCTakesGuts.org
