I am 16 years into my pouch. I was doing great for more than a decade, than boom: bouts of pouchitis.  Ok so now in the last month or so I have been having numerous 'accidents' throughout the night and now even during the day.  Went to my GI and set up the pouch- oscopy for last Wed. 4/7.  Dr. said once again it is the best pouch he has ever seen! However he went farther up into the small intestine and found numerous ulcers (he figured if he would have gone farther there would be more).  He took biopsies and thinks it could possibly be bacteria.  Ok so now the problem...starting on Friday things went down hill...I haven't had a bowel movement since Friday (which is total opposite from the month before)  I have had pain, however the pain is increasing.  I have taken laxative (nothin).  Do  you think that this could be a blockage or a kink?  I don't want to really go to ER because I have been there for this in the past (blockage) and all they did was pain meds.  What would you do?

Did you start on any medication for pouchitis (or bacterial overgrowth)? Antibiotics can substantially slow things down. Limit yourself to liquids, and make sure you’re not getting dehydrated by monitoring your urination. An ER can do three things for a blockage, regardless of the cause: replenish fluids, treat pain, and (in extreme cases) initiate surgery to prevent or treat a ruptured bowel. Avoid the laxatives.

How long has this been going on? I’m having the exact same issues and I found out I have another recto-vaginal fistulA that is leaking and they are going to doanother repair next week but I’ve had 4 other RV fistulas and none have ever had this pain.... so am looking for some similar answers as to you. Please keep us posted what you find out.... good luck and thank you!
