Hey everyone! So my son was born on April 16th and is almost 4 weeks old already! I wanted to post a little bit about my experience...

My C-section was done at a military hospital and since I was considered "high risk" they had 2 surgeons in the room and had a general surgeon on call in case something happened to the bowel. Nothing out of the ordinary happened during the surgery- I was given both a spinal and epidural which was awesome. I just had an epidural for my daughter and felt a LOT more. I was given percocet and 800 mg of Ibuprofin.

And for the best part.....my GI tract woke up same day as surgery!!!!! This let me eat food normally very quickly. I also had NO nausea afterwards; however, I did have some nausea right before the surgery which they took care of. They kept offering me a laxative which I guess most women need to help with constipation. I kept trying to explain I don't have a colon and laxatives have never helped my poo better. With my daughter's birth my pouch didn't wake up for days and the nurse thought a laxative would help. The only thing it did was clean out whatever was in there at the time in the middle of me sleeping. What an awful thing to wake up to!!!!!! Don't, don't don't take a laxative. (but I'm sure most of you already knew that!)

I was up and around walking same day and the next day so well I was discharged just 48 hours after giving birth! I also stopped taking all my pain meds after about a week and a half. It was such an awesome experience I'd love to do it over and over again lol! (minus the getting cut open part I guess...)
