There really isn't a way to avoid covering it with the wafer, the stoma nurses tried. It is too close to the stoma. The stoma nurse said to have a surgeon look at it and we will. The first couple times they did the bag change they covered the incision with gauze but this time they put the wafer directly over it. I am afraid of what is going to happen when they peel the old wafer off. The skin and area around it is very tender. Ouch!! I wonder about putting an antibiotic ointment in it to protect it from the sticky wafer. hopefully we can get into the surgeon soon. I also wonder what the scar is going to look like there. The rest of it is already just a thin white line.
